If you’re wondering how to enable it, well… Real time search will be available for everyone in a few days. If it’s still not active for you, just do the following:
- Go to www.google.com
- Search for something
- Edit the URL so it contains: &esrch=RTSearch&tbs=rltm%3A1. For example, if the URL you’re getting is something like:
http://www.google.com/search?q=appleJust change it to:
http://www.google.com/search?q=apple&esrch=RTSearch&tbs=rltm%3A1As you can easily notice, the trick is just to set a couple of GET parameters. If you use Firefox, you can add these parameters automatically for every search. Just:
- Open Firefox
- Go to: Bookmarks -> Organise Bookmarks…
- Double click on Bookmarks Menu
- Organise -> New Bookmark…
- Name: Google
- Location: http://www.google.com/search?q=%s&esrch=RTSearch&tbs=rltm%3A1
- Keyword: g
g appleas the URL, where apple is what you’re searching for.
Enjoy!
